About Beth...
I have been in love with the sorcery of photography since I was six when I first began dabbling with the ability to use light and composition as currency to buy an emotion.
I have owned a camera since then, but short of taking basic photography in high school, I have learned primarily through point and click experimentation, and I am continuing to.
I am inspired by natural lines that can be found all over nature, including in ourselves. I also look to my three daughters, and I am constantly propelled to find a way to express the power of being female, and also human.
Photography has so many purposes in our society, but the purpose it has found in my life is to reveal and depict honesty. I will snap one hundred pictures and as I flip through them I will land on one. My hairs will stand on end, and warmth washes over me, then I know I caught my longed for truth.
Creation is its own emotion; I felt it as I carried and delivered my daughters, as I feel it when I see my art. It is a beautiful impulse to take your inside and put it out, to see it, to learn it, to share it, and for better or worse, to cherish it.
Some of my favorite photographers are Sally Mann, Man Ray, and Cindy Sherman.
