About Dave...
David is a graduate of The University at Buffalo and The Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute. He has been working as a freelance etcher in addition to showing art for several years in the Hudson valley, New York's capital region, and Buffalo.
"I believe every individual's perception is formed and transformed through experience and is therefore unique. Much of my work is in attempt to express my own perception or way of seeing the world. I utilize the idea of psychic automatism in order to work as spontaneous as possible as this allows for the creation of more honest and individual imagery. As a painting progresses I make a point of following the first few marks I make in order to establish movement and composition and allowing previous layers to show through. This is in effort to illustrate the mental process of filtering the world through our perceptions to form outward reactions."
