First of all, let’s start by saying that it is not our intention to say which the best console for console games is because they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Let’s get to know the current generation of consoles – PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation Vita. Without pre-defined order, we begin with the “stationary” consoles, that is, those that traditionally occupy one of the divisions of our house.

The Sony platform, PlayStation 4, is arguably the most popular console of this generation and the one that is at the forefront, at least at the sales level. Within this machine you can find a robust single-chip processor with 8 colors, 1.60 GHz x86-64 AMD “Jaguar” and an AMD Radeon graphics 1.84 Teraflops. This all supported by 8GB of GDDR5 RAM and 500GB of data disk, or 1TB in new versions. The wireless connection is supported by the standards 802.11 b / g / neo and DualShock 4 command is supported by a Bluetooth 2.1 connection. In short, Sony claims that the performance of the PS4 is 10x higher than the old generation PS3.
The PlayStation 4 is really an excellent console. Fast, beautifully designed and with the philosophy of giving the player the best possible quality on a stationary console. Also note that Sony has given good support to your console, releasing several updates with significant news. These updates add content, improve system stability and speed.
The third console of Microsoft had a troubled beginning of life, with some controversies like “Always Online” and other policies that were not well seen in the community gamer. Microsoft has slowly found its way to its machine. Multimedia capabilities are a plus, with applications such as Plax and Netflix, which make the Xbox One suitable for watching movies and shows in the comfort of your sofa.
On the most interesting side of the games, Microsoft has revealed over time some interesting exclusive ones such as Scalebound or Crackdown 3. The latter promises to reveal the power of the cloud, which was both ridiculed in the early life of the console. Another factor to take into account is the constant updating of the library of Xbox 360 games compatible with Xbox One, already counting with more than 100 titles available.
With PlayStation Vita, Sony has strengthened its investment in the mobile video game market by taking a giant leap from the previous console, the PlayStation Portable. Incidentally, 512 Mb RAM, an OLED touchscreen processor and a quad-core CPU and GPU among many other features, make the PlayStation Vita an authentic mini PlayStation 3.
With potentialities such as listening to music, watching movies, Netflix and many others the PlayStation Vita is not only a gaming console but above all a multimedia console. However, with the technological evolution of smartphones, and tablets and their growing mobile gaming platforms, Vita was suddenly surrounded by fierce competition leading to the decline of the console.
